Yahoo Mail is an online email service that’s known to be one of the earliest email service providers in the world. Similar to Gmail, Yahoo Mail provides users with all the basic Yahoo mail services like sending and receiving emails or blocking spam. It’s free to create a Yahoo Mail account and you can access it via a web browser or its mobile app. As of 2020, Yahoo Mail has 225 million active monthly users.

Despite its security implementations, Yahoo Mail has experienced its fair share of security breaches. So, it’s recommended to increase your security and protect the privacy of your Yahoo email account. One of the best ways to protect your digital identity when browsing Yahoo Mail is to use a Yahoo Mail proxy.

A proxy acts as an intermediary between your device and the internet so any website you visit or application you use that connects to the internet would only be able to see the IP address of the proxy server and never your own IP. Through rotating proxies and a massive proxy pool, you can continuously change the IP address of the proxy server on a given time interval. With proxies, you gain a protective shield that safeguards you from users with malicious intent and also gives you total anonymity when browsing the internet.

A Yahoo Mail proxy also has a number of other use cases. For example, if you want to automate creating and managing multiple accounts on your device. As Yahoo Mail limits the number of accounts a single IP address can make but with a Yahoo Mail proxy, you can create a new account with a different IP address each time. This allows you to create as many accounts as you want and effectively use your bot without getting banned.

The best Yahoo Mail proxy to use would be residential proxies as these types of proxies use real residential IPs from actual devices making it difficult to notice that you’re using a proxy. Datacenter proxies, although faster than residential proxies, aren’t secure enough to prevent websites from noticing that you’re using a bot or proxy. It’s also not recommended to use free proxies from random Yahoo proxy sites as these proxies are unreliable and may already be banned by most websites.

Let’s set up a Yahoo Mail proxy server.

How To Use Proxies With Yahoo Mail

For Windows:

To set up proxies in Windows, simply search for “Proxy Settings” in your windows search bar and open the search result.

You are then given two options to choose from: Automatic proxy setup or Manual proxy setup. If you want windows to automatically detect your proxy settings, choose the first option. Choose the second option if you want to utilize a specific ip address and port number.

If you chose the first option, then:

  1. Turn on Automatically detect Settings
  2. Turn on Use setup script
  3. Enter the script address
  4. Click Save

If you chose the second option, then:

  1. Turn on Use a proxy server
  2. Input both server address and port number
  3. If you have any addresses you would like to visit without a proxy, enter them here
  4. Turn on Don’t use the proxy server for local addresses check box if you want to access a local server without a proxy
  5. Click Save

This should then redirect you to MacOS proxy settings. MacOS is more straightforward compared to windows. You only have one option which is to manually configure your proxy server.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Select which proxy IP protocol you want to configure. This depends on which protocols your proxy service provider offers.
  2. Turn on Secure Web Proxy
  3. Input the Proxy Server Address and Port Number
  4. Click OK to save the configurations

Note: You may be prompted for your Mac user password to save your settings.

For Mobile:

To set up a mobile Yahoo Mail proxy server, simply change your phone’s proxy settings. Yahoo Mail will automatically copy your phone’s proxy settings whenever you use it. This is applicable for both Android and IOS. Here’s a thorough guide for Android and another one for iPhone.

Congratulations! You have now finished configuring a Yahoo Mail proxy server. Note that the first time you visit it, there will be a pop up asking for your login credentials.

Note: Make sure that the web browser you’re using for Yahoo Mail is set to automatically copy your computer’s proxy settings. Google Chrome automatically does this, so it’s recommended to use it.
